When will I receive my order?

As soon as you have paid, the download kit should be available instantly on a download link.

Where do I get my game?

  1. After paying you should be directed immediately back to our site to a screen with the download links embedded on the page.

  2. Click these links to download your game.

  3. After clicking the links, your computer should open up a file download box on your screen.

  4. When this happens click “save” and specify a folder you can easily find once it’s downloaded, e.g. My Documents, or the desktop. Sometimes computers will automatically save files into a “download” folder. Every computer is slightly different, but if you get stuck, just use your file search option to locate them based on the file names.

  5. After the game has downloaded, open up the folder you saved it in and all the files you need for the game will be available there and you are ready to share them with your team mates and play!

How do I download all files?

You will download the Zip file which contains all files. You will then need to extract the files from the zip file.

Shipping & Delivery

All of our games are digital downloads as we have created them to be suitable for In Real Life or Virtual game play. Therefore, there is no shipment or delivery costs.

What's the best way to share the game with the players?

You will be provided (after payment) with a zip file that contains each character booklet as a single file.

We recommend that you buy the game on your phone and then you simply distribute the download to the rest of the team via Airdrop/WhatsApp/Messenger and each player can just use their own device during the game.

Do I have to print the script?

If at all possible, try not to print the scripts - Fat Egg is environment friendly! So please encourage everyone to use their phones/tablets/computers as all the files are provided in easy to read format.

What do I need to know as a host?

We recommend to:

  1. Set the date and organise the details if it's an online video call or in-person event

  2. Send a save the date and share the details with the participants

  3. Keep in mind the personality of each player when you assign roles

  4. Provide everyone with background info. (This will all be provided to you in the game download)

  5. Keep it simple - do not make more work for yourself. So when planning your event, make sure you actually get to enjoy the game as well.

  6. Don't forget - you are part of the game and you should enjoy it, too!

What do I need to know as a first time player?

We recommend to:

  1. Check out the background information before the game

  2. Get game ready - dress up as your character (if you wish)

  3. Stick to the script - more or less. (Never make up lies, but feel free to express yourself with the help of the script)

  4. Have fun, ask questions, and accuse the character/s you think committed the crime!

  5. Play another game!

How long is a game?

Usually between 90-180 minutes. The length depends on the number of players, the discussions you have and the intervals you take.

Can the host play?

Absolutely. The host should be one of the players, unless they just want to host. But we think it is a lot more fun if the host is part of the game as well.

Are the games scripted?

Yes. We will provide you with everything you will need for the game, so even if you randomly decide to play, all you need are your phones and you are good to go.

Just because the scripts are written it does not mean that you will not be able to make the game interactive - it is there as a base for you.

We only ask you to make sure you do not add any false or misleading information.

What is the difference between an in-person game, a hybrid game and an online/virtual game?

An in-person game simply means that everyone who is playing the mystery game is together in the same location.

Hybrid games are when some people are together in the same location and some join via video. It is perfect for friends and families who live too far to meet often enough.

Virtual games basically mean that no one is in the same location, but you all come together via a video call to play the game.

Can we play the game via video?

Yes, absolutely! Simply agree on the platform (such as messenger, whatsapp, zoom etc) and the time and date and you can play the game online.

Even if you are online, you can still dress up or create an atmosphere for the mystery.

How many people can play?

Our games are designed for 6,8,10,12 players currently and are provided in multiple languages.

When you buy a game you need to make sure you have chosen the right language and right amount of players.

What's included in my download kit?

As a minimum, each kit has the following:

  • Information booklet

  • Host notes

  • Player's guide

  • Individual character booklets

  • Audio detective files

Will someone know that they are the murderer?

No, no one, including the host, will know who the murderer is until the end of the game.

Throughout the game you will need to make some deductions and figure out together with your group which one of the characters is the most likely suspect. Remember, it could be you!

It is significantly more fun if you do not know until the very end of the game which one of you committed the murder and if you guessed right!
